Firstly Let me say,Having worked with several other Home Brewers on their Hops, which they Bought Online..Northwest has Shipped Superior Rhizomes every time, the Vitality was Unmatched. After some Experimentation, We Discovered that as Home brewers there was no need to build a Traditional Arbor, because of the Small Scale and Non Commercial Application. So we Began Building a Non Traditional arbor which Allows for the Lowering of the Whole Choir as often as we see fit. This was Accomplished by Replacing the Aircraft wire atop the poles with a Rope on 2 pulleys. everything else remains the same. As you may Know Hops Mature at differing rates..so We simply Loosen the Rope and Lower the bines intact (rather than a wait and cut method) allowing us to Individually pick the Mature cones, then Raise the Bines back to allow the next bunch to mature. Doing this has more than Tripled the Amount of Mature cones we can Harvest in a season. Thanks for Listening, Organic Mechanic
